Who Copied Whom?

In 1986 both ALF and the Pet Shop Boys single "Suburbia" came out. Listen to them both., espcially the chorus part of the PSB song.  They sound awfully similar, don't they? I think that it was the ALF folks. Pet Shop Boys don't need to copy...

  1. Hmmmmm, maybe. I'm not familiar with the ALF prog. Although not a great TV watcher I think I'm right in saying that it was never screened here in the U.K. But by 1986 PSB had had their 'West End Girls' monster worldwide hit so I dare say they travelled a lot on the back of that and could have come across ALF in the U.S.A or elsewhere slightly later. So it is conceiveable that it might have been an unconscious 'lift'.

  2. Man, you have good ears! I would have never picked up on that in a billion years.
