I had completely forgotten about this group!! A old friend who was into Hi-NRG had introduced them to me years ago, and it was love at first listen!!

Hurricane Irene Update

Except for some heavy winds that might still come through and knock our power out, I think that the worst of Hurricane Irene is over for our area. We have lots of branches down in the yard (I always tell F that we should start a "kindling" company!) but otherwise no damage. TTFN!

Bunny Update

F and I just searched the whole front lawn and found no trace of the bunny babies.

So we have to assume that something got them. :(

Why Don't Gladiators Roam My Workplace?

Baby Bunnies!!!

I came home from work Friday night, and noticed that a wild bunny that had been eating sitting on our front lawn that morning was still there. In broad daylight no less.

"That's odd...", I thought as I went across the lawn to see if the bunny was dead.

It wasn't. As I approached it hopped a few yards away from where it had been and looked back at me.

As I got closer to where the bunny had been, I could see why.

"She" had made a nest in our front lawn and had baby bunnies!!!

On. Our. Front. Lawn.

Ack.

And what's worse is that today, I couldn't see the nest (she may have camouflaged it) so I don't know if the baby bunnies are still there or not.

And that lawn needs mowing!

What, oh what, is a Queen to do?

I'll keep you posted kids...

But for now, that lawn ain't getting mowed!

Favorite Toys Meme

This meme is just whizzing around the interwebs!

This was an "Odin the Viking" doll action figure made by Marx toys. As you can see, he came with all of those fabulous accessories, although you couldn't take his clothes off. There was also a fellow fuck-buddy Viking named "Erik" who was his bitch blonde and clean shaven, and there were also horses that you could purchase that they could ride on, but, all I ever got was Odin.

I played with him a lot! Although I think that most of the accessories ended up breaking or getting bent out of shape. I saw one on Ebay recently for $150!! Can you imagine?!!

Lincoln Logs! I expect that every kid from my generation had these at one time or another. I used to build all sorts of cabins and bath houses various structures! These kept me busy for many the hour!

Does anyone remember these? They were called "The Outer Space Men" and each of them came from a different planet in the solar system.

I remember that I had the ones from Mars, Venus and Jupiter. I always wanted the Man from Uranus, but that one was always sold out! :(

Captain Action! I loved him! What little gay boy wouldn't?!! Skin tight outfit with "leather boots and a jaunty cap"!

G.I. Joe! The classic 60's toy for little boys! He and Captain Action spent a LOT of time together! ;)

Operation: Phantom Knocker

Never a dull moment around the Ashram.

Tiamat (F's pain in the ass mother) has a new issue.

Tiamat lives in a senior citizen apartment complex. You can only get into the building if you have a key.

Someone has been knocking on her door in the middle of the night, and when she looks through the peephole there is no one there.

It doesn't happen every night, but, it has been happening often enough to be a nuisance.

I think that it's either some poor soul with the beginnings of dementia wandering the halls when they can't sleep or Tiamat is making it all up.

F thinks that it's his mother's neighbor from across the hall because his mother and the neighbor don't get along. (Franklly, very few people get along with Tiamat, but that's a story for another time!) So his line of thought is that when the neighbor gets up in the middle of the night to take a pee, he steps out into the hall, knocks on Tiamat's door and ducks back into his own apartment! Can you imagine?!!!

They complained to the apartment manager about the knocking, and there are security cameras, but, apparently they don't see anyone or anything on the dates and times that these incidents have supposedly occurred, so there's nothing that they can do.

So now F and his brother "M" are going to take matters into their own hands.

F ordered one of those miniature "spy cameras" and hooked it up to a space above his mother's door. And they were also able to hook it up so that they can watch it on her television set. But they can't figure out how to record the images, so supposedly this coming weekend F and M are going to have a "pajama party" at "Mommy's" to watch the TV in shifts to see if they can catch who's doing it!

Assuming that someone knocks that night.

And assuming that whoever it is (if there is someone!) won't catch on to what's going on or hear about it through the "apartment grapevine" as Tiamat has a big mouth!

I'll keep you all posted as things develop.
